Perform data clean up in preparation for database migration.
Add, modify and maintain databases, maps, and/or graphs that can be combined with geographically referenced data, working with GIS software and programs. Identify and resolve all related discrepancies using documentation as well as contacting other business unites to gather information. Requires direction and guidance with few tasks once trained. Manages multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously. Maintains and organize workstation as well as field and other documentation, including filing and maintaining files and or tracking reports. Leans and applies new information quickly. Keeps databases, maps, and graphs maintained. Meets with users to define data needs, project requirements, required outputs, or to develop applications. Conducts research to locate and obtain existing databases.
The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided.
*1-3 years of Outside Plant knowledge or GIS experience or Fiber/Records Experience
*Working knowledge of TIRKs preferred- Experience with FireWorks/BidMaster, NDS, and other *** proprietary systems preferred.
*Strong customer service and communication skills.
*Strong computer skills required, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.)
*Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
*Creativity in problem solving mixed with the ability to maintain and support company and department policies and procedures
*Working knowledge of various graphic software, i.e. ArcGIS, MapInfo, Client Smallworld (NDS), 3 GIS, OSPI and TIRKS are a plus
*Must be able to interpret, organize, and assemble documentation for extended periods
