Business Risk & Quality Management (BR&QM) is the WMA Wealth Management Advice & Solutions (WMAS) organization that interfaces with our businesses to deliver effective fit-for-purpose risk and quality management solutions supportive of WMAS Management and Business Partners/Control Functions. At any given point, the BR&QM Team is executing against both externally driven requirements and WMAS originating projects, initiatives and ongoing processes. BR&QM also manages the key WMAS Risk Governance Forum, the recurring WMAS Risk Review Meeting.

BR&QM is central to the WMAS implementation of the *** Group Operational Risk Framework. The approach strikes a balance between efficiently engaging the business to meet required deliverables while minimizing disruption to their day-to-day operations, notably within the following "functional programs."
" Operational Risk Management
" Regulatory & Compliance
" Audit Management
" Standards & Policies
" Business Continuity Management

Key Responsibilities:

The temporary resource is required to help support a key business risk initiative specifically supporting the implementation of new risk management controls for certain WMAS trading desks as part of the "Fundamental Review of the Trading Book" per Basel requirements. Some of the functions include:
" Partner with the Business, Risk, IT, Finance, Legal, and Compliance to understand the approach and measures needed to meet requirements
" Assist in defining desk structures and traders within trading book hierarchy that conform with regulatory requirements
" Assist in the overhaul of the risk infrastructure and corresponding impact to business strategy and operating model.
" Coordinate the implementation of new limits, risk sensitivity measures, monitoring controls, and any other requirements across the impacted desks
" Coordinate with the aforementioned partners in development and implementation of regulatory reporting submission functionality of new risk model requirements

Basic Qualifications:

" Minimum 7 years' experience
" Project management, business analysis & coordination skills; ability to work on a wide range of projects and activities simultaneously
" The ability to work in virtual teams leveraging immediate colleagues and others as necessary
" Experience in risk, audit, regulatory or compliance environment, with a combination a plus
" Experience and knowledge of financial products and their development life cycle management (Capital Markets experience a plus)
" Awareness and knowledge of national and international industry wide risk related initiatives and structures (e.g., SOX)
" Proven communications skills (written/verbal) and the ability to present and negotiate complex issues at all levels through senior management
" The ability to challenge and be challenged
" Strong excel skills
" Trading risk management experience a plus
" Additional financial services education or qualifications a plus
" Series 7 license a plus
" MBA a plus
