The IT Vendor SLM Resource is a supporting role in the Technology Governance function primarily assisting with management of IT vendor Software License Management (SLM)s and may also assist with management of IT Vendors and IT Assets generally in accordance with Bank policy and procedures. This resource will work closely with cross functional teams to support for the deploy oa software asset management tool (SAM) throughout Client. Primarily, the resource will be responsible to enter publisher software entitlement rights purchased into the IBM Control Desk (ICD) system and remediate any deployment discrepancies by reallocation to other Bank Groups, purchase of additional entitlement or removal of non-compliant licenses from the applicable equipment. senior leaders in other Technology functions to develop and execute a strategic vendor management plan for key IT suppliers, assist with the execution of Policy, provide KPI performance analytics and track key events to resolution. In general, this resource will be both a liaison between the business area, procurement, Bank wide vendor management and IT vendors as well as the party responsible for execution of the vendor management plan.
Duties may include:
"Research to locate contracts for additional license entitlement.
"Inputting, deleting or adjustment of license entitlement directly into ICD. Software asset management (SAM) and Hardware asset management (HAM) analytics, validation, reconciliation, moves, adds and changes are supported in accordance with contract terms and performance levels. May require interpreting contract, procedure or policy and preparing concise summaries and/or explaining relevant details to others.
This role is a special project for 12-18 months and needs an ideal candidate that has both vendor management and software asset management experience.
Under general supervision:
"Implement and maintain processes and execute plans relative to Vendor Management and IT software asset management Policies
"Assure vendor meeting preparation/participation and complete reporting, templates and collect and analyze performance and improvement metrics for vendors and software assets.
"Liaise and coordinate vendor management tasks with external vendors, Procurement and internal stakeholders.
"Interpret software license rights, extract large data files of software deployment and reconcile variances through a remediation plan.
"Work with business groups to review and execute an acceptable remediation plan.
"Capture and record savings and cost avoidances for management reporting.
Minimum five years' experience in vendor management and exposure to, or significant experience with, IT Software Asset Management.
"Understanding of vendor management principles
"Familiarity with contracts and ability to understand and interpret IT contracts for SLAs and software license grants and restrictions
"Experience in operations, performance management, metric development and monitoring "Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills
"Strong client relationship building and customer service
"Strong attention to detail
"Ability to collect and analyze IT asset deployment and usage data via asset management systems or Excel Pivot Tables. Interpretation and presentation of the data to groups and senior management is also required. Strong contract comprehension
"Familiarity with software license types and terms.
"Previous vendor management experience.
