Schedule: Night Shift, 10:00pm-6:30am; Tue-Sat
Proactively monitor and respond to and resolve network alarms. Management of circuits (100Gb, Ethernet & IP), perform testing of new network circuits as well as long-haul, metro and international optical networks. Analyze network troubles, assess performance data and develop design optimization plans accordingly. Interface with fiber vendors, telecom providers and other entities on complex technical matters. Ensure services conform to customer mandated SLAs for latency, packet loss, jitter, throughput.
Required Skills, Systems, Experience:
General telephony repair work in a customer facing NOC environment
Strong working knowledge and experience on Metro Ethernet and IP communications (IPv4, IPv6, routing protocols)
Technical knowledge and experience on contemporary technologies (e.g. MPLS, TDM, Ethernet, eLAN-eLine, TCP/IP, BGP, QoS, IP, etc.)
Preferred Skills, Systems, Experience:
Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Software, Networks, or related technical or vocational education
Experience with Ethernet, VPLS, IP, MPLS
Cisco CCIP, CCDP, CCNP certifications
Juniper or ALU data networking equivalent
Broadband and/or narrowband circuit maintenance, testing and restoration, provisioning databases and circuit activations.
Routers, IP protocols, configurations, interfaces
Analyze, test and repair Layer 1/2/3 network problems
Ability to test using standard protocols, as well as Iperf and Brix platforms
Transport platforms (i.e. Nortel, Cisco, Ciena, Client and Tellabs) and Data platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Adtran)
Ability to interface in a professional manner with management and customers
Aptitude for on the job training
Comfortable asking questions
Eager to learn and build skills
Able to effectively manage multiple issues simultaneously thorugh effective work prioritization
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and logical thinking when under pressure
Demonstrated leadership profile to proactively track and escalate issues, engage resources to expedite service/network outages, professional interaction skills with customers and management. Ability to relate technical issues to management and lead personnel.
-Working on National Ethernet repair.
-Ideally we re looking for candidates with an IP background (job experience, formal education, or basic knowledge with willingness to learn).
-A CCNA or Juniper cert would be preferred, but we do quite a bit of on the job training so really a basic telephony/network understanding, call center experience, with a great attitude
-Seeking someone local to CO and available immediately as the sponsor will be out the beginning of March
