- The Agile Product Manager/Owner as a member of the management consulting team in Banking domain will own the overall delivery of the final product and its full vision in our Financial Services client organizations on client engagements.
- 12-14 years of experience in product development and delivery, client and stakeholder management, consulting and market research, Agile development framework, knowledge management, program management
- 8-10 years' experience in cards & Payments (preferred)
- The role involves managing of product backlogs, owning the finances such as ROI and cost benefit of each business requirements, provide business solutions by analyzing the client's business priorities, goals and roadmap, build and maintain relationship with stakeholders, providing solutions in streamlining operations and/or facilitating the evaluation, and participation in development events including planning, refinement, review, retrospective, the sprint and daily scrum.
1. Product Management
a. Business Requirements Work with Product management group to create a strategic vision for the product Provide support and consultancy on themes to be executed as part of product roadmap aligning to the strategic goals of the organization. Represents the business to define backlog in line with the business needs Owns Product backlog and implementation. Drives sprint via prioritized stories. Ensure that the requirements are light weight and written in User Story format that can to be groomed and can be implemented within the defined sprint cycle. Prioritize the features depending on value delivered to various business lines. Responsible for the release planning meetings and the necessary prerequisites. Contributes to the product management meetings, to groom the backlog and refine vision statements.
b. Business Solution – Functional Specification Run empathy sessions with focus user groups to get user feedback and process them back to the product backlog Create prototype definitions / workflows which the engineering can quickly consume Socialize the business intents in advance with the engineering team to get high level estimates
c. Sprint Execution Ensure the Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) Ensure specific and measurable sprint goals Provides acceptance criteria for the user stories planned for the next sprint. Ensure 100% participation in team demo and retrospective to accept the stories and work on team improvement areas 100% availability and contribution to the sprint planning activities so that the sprint goal is attainable.
d. Process Participate with the product owners and business/end users to continuously groom the Release/Product backlog and prioritize the same in terms of delivering maximum business value. Support to the Scrum Master and team as per agreement. Participation in grooming of user stories and validation of estimates.
Supporting ATDD by participating in acceptance criteria. Provide measurable inputs for retrospectives
2. Customer / Stakeholder Celebration
a. Business users comfort level Measure on # of interaction with Business Process Lead and other vendors to understand the roles and responsibilities of the different systems involved. This will help identify dependencies across user stories and help mapping them across sprints. Measured on the number of features/epics/stories completed against committed.
b. Customer / Stakeholder Mapping Mapping to customer business / product management and business teams. Identify integration points in Customer architecture and involve the relevant teams.
3. Knowledge Management
a. Functional Training Mapping to customer business/ product management and business teams. Identify integration points in Customer architecture and involve the relevant teams.
b. Practice Development, Domain expertise building Creating and updating domain knowledge collaterals and disseminating within the team. Building premium content for consumption outside the domain team for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Desired Skills & Experience
Financial/Engineering degree, MBA is a preferred. Past work experience in enabling digital programs /products in a must. Must have Business Analysis and Product Manager/Owner experience in BFSI. Should have domain expertise in any of the following areas – Cards & Payments. Experience in executing large scale projects for clients in Banking, Finance sector. Capability to establish personal credibility with clients. Comfortable with CXO level presentations – excellent written and verbal communication skills and good client facing and people handling skills. Should have worked on requirement management and defect management tools. CSPO certification is preferred.
In addition, candidates should have:
Exceptional problem-solving and business analysis skills Proven ability to prioritize and efficiently complete assignments while maintaining the highest quality; exceptional organizational skills. Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft applications (MS Visio, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word) and comfort with learning and using new software tools. Exceptional facilitation skills with ability to bring teams to consensus. Professional team-player with exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Passion for improving processes and systems.
