Title: Financial Analyst
Duration: 8+ months
Location: New York, NY

As a Financial Analyst, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring and assessing the financial performance of institutions in the Regional, Community, and Foreign Institution (RCFI) Function's portfolio.

This includes:

  • Designing and creating data visualizations, utilizing internal and external databases, to monitor financial risks across the RCFI portfolios
  • Partnering with risk analysts and supervisory managers in RCFI and different levels of the organization to develop insightful analytical tools and reports
  • Developing subject matter expertise in bank financial analysis including but not limited to capital adequacy, earnings, and liquidity and interest rate risk
  • Collaborating with peers within the Bank and across Client System to promote synergies around best practices, methods, and tools in the scope of surveillance and exam support.
  • Working with colleagues across the Bank in the Markets, Discount Window, and Research groups to deliver important and highly sensitive messages to both supervised firms and other agencies involved in its oversight
  • Monitoring market developments (e.g., Puerto Rico financial crisis) and emerging trends by tracking relevant external sources (media, analyst reports, etc.)
  • Assisting in the identification of thematic and/or system-wide financial risk topics across firms and, as appropriate, develop topics for inclusion in function deliverables

  • Minimum 5 years of prior of finance, analytical, or data visualization experience is required
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience of visual design and visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Power-BI)
  • Concrete knowledge of relational database, SQL and other data querying mechanism and tools
  • Moderate experience with various data manipulation in Excel with basic programming skill (preferred)

Education – Bachelor degree is required

Certification – CPA, CFA, or FRM is preferred
